• 5.0 out of 5 stars from Timothy Schell -- 10 Stars.....on a Scale of 5 : Before I buy anything online, I read the negative reviews and do some additional investigation if I have time. As of today, this book has three 1-star reviews. Two of them are from unverified purchases, which immediately puts me on alert. I have to question the legitimacy of those reviews—whether these individuals have a personal vendetta against one or both authors. Regarding the 1-star “review” on May 20, 2021, the “reviewer” says she is “a law student,” but reading some of her other reviews available via her profile, she says she is an English teacher, which raises a red flag. She also screams, “GET REAL LEGAL ADVICE!!!” However, if she truly read the book like I have, it says right on page ii in the front matter: “The information provided herein is not legal advice or advice of any kind,” so the authors certainly don’t pretend to be giving legal advice whatsoever. The only hope for salvaging the system is is for each of us to educate ourselves as to how it is supposed to work and persistently pursue our rights until it does work as it should. Go after your rights and keep going until your persistence is more trouble or more embarrassing or more costly than just paying up to make you go away. What would happen if everyone did this? Either the system would collapse under the weight of its corruption or changes would have to be made. STLOIYF is your guidebook for doing this. Why re-invent the wheel? The courts suck, the police suck, the judges suck, the lawyers suck, etc. Get in over your head in our corrupt judicial system? Consider fleeing the country as your last best hope. (really?) The remainder of the book has some templates for legal forms and lists of websites. Some noteworthy endorsements on the back cover, so I kept telling myself that it HAD to get better. I was wrong. For educational value, and templates, I'll stick to the Nolo series. As for something relevant and entertaining with solid advice? I'll go with Dr Duane's book. I won't take advantage of Amazon's awesome return policy. It doesn't seem right to return a book to after reading it through. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2020 )
• 5.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- What Time It Is... : If you ever had to be in court, or you end up there in the future, you will be very grateful to yourself for having read Sara Naheedy & Tom Scott's book Stack the Legal Odds in Your Favor. The work is well-written, easy to understand and provides highly practical advice in a totally corrupt U.S. court system that favors only the most wealthy who can afford to buy whatever decision they need. I could go on and on about how important the material is but in my opinion, it should be required reading for everyone over the age of 18. ( Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2020 )
